ATTENTION - In the period from June 9 to 25, 2026, both galleries at Marta will be closed simultaneously for the reconstruction of the new exhibitions around the theme "Mindset Los Angeles - Frank Gehry and the Cool School"!

The museum store and the Marta lobby areopen from Tue to Sun from 11 am to 6 pm.
The Marta Café will be closed from Mon, 8. 6. to Fri, 12. 6. From Sat, 13 June, the café will be open again at its regular times.

And what a roof. The sculptural museum building from 2005 is an impressive original. The work of star architect Frank Gehry. Today, the unique building is a hallmark of Herford's originality and cosmopolitanism.

However sophisticated the people of Herford may be, they do not forget their Westphalian origins and present them proudly: the modern building has a façade made of clinker bricks, which is so typical of this region.
